What is the Rushland Local Auction?

The Rushland Local Auction is a community‑driven initiative designed to spotlight the incredible businesses, makers, and service providers across Cumberland County, Nova Scotia and surrounding areas. Every item in the auction has been contributed by a business in or around Cumberland County, NS, and each listing includes details about the business so you can discover new places to shop, visit, and support. 

Think of these photos as a living directory — a way to “save” businesses you love and revisit them long after the auction ends. All proceeds raised by Rushland through this auction go directly toward building our Sensory Zone, a core part of our mission to create an inclusive, accessible indoor play place for all families. Following we will summarize why we are hosting this auction, how to participate in the auction, and we have included a list of all the businesses who donated in the auction.

Why is Rushland Hosting This Auction?

Increasing Awareness of Cumberland County, NS

• As we continue working through our plans we wanted to keep momentum strong. This auction allows us to showcase what makes Cumberland County special while we prepare for our next major milestones.

Showcasing What Our Region Has to Offer

• Cumberland County is full of talent, creativity, and heart. By bringing these businesses together in one place, we’re helping Nova Scotia see what our region brings to the table — and encouraging residents to explore locally.

Demonstrating Community Engagement & Demand

• A major part of our planning process involves demonstrating to partners that the community is engaged, supportive, and ready to invest their time in local experiences. This auction helps illustrate that people will show up, participate, and put their money where their values are — including supporting a future indoor play place.

Building Strategic Partnerships

• This initiative has already sparked new relationships with local businesses, strengthening the foundation for long‑term collaboration. These partnerships will continue to benefit families long after Rushland opens its doors.

How to Participate (Until May 20 at 11AM)

Participating is simple:

3. Open the album titled Local Auction
4. Browse items contributed by local businesses
5. Place your bid in the comments of the item you want
